Heiko Knospe studied mathematics and completed a PhD at the University of Münster with a thesis on Iwasawa theory, a topic in number theory and arithmetic geometry. He then worked for the Deutsche Telekom Group, latterly as an expert in cryptology and security solutions. Since 2003, he has been a Professor of Mathematics at the Institute of Computer and Communication Technology at TH Köln. His work focuses on algebra, number theory and number-theoretical methods in cryptography.
